Humanim is a non-profit human services organization founded in 1971 to provide workforce development and clinical support services to disadvantaged youth, adults and seniors with disabilities and other barriers to employment and independence. Humanim's mission is to identify those in the greatest need and provide uncompromising human services. Over 95% of the individuals served by Humanim fall below the poverty level. With a staff of 450, Humanim currently serves over 4500 individuals per year throughout the state of Maryland. Through best practice program design and a series of solid partnerships with other non-profit and for-profit business entities, Humanim has been able to expand employment, residential, neuro-rehabilitation and developmental disabilities services to 18 of the 24 Maryland counties. Humanim has achieved the maximum accreditation in selected program areas from CARF, a national accreditation commission, since 1994 and was awarded the Maryland Association of Non-Profit Organizations Standards for Excellence Certification in 2002.
